Former NBA Star Luol Deng Leads South Sudan Basketball to Paris Olympics

former nba star luol dengFormer NBA star Luol Deng is reaping what he started in South Sudan. Six years after the country played its first international basketball tournament, South Sudan defeated Angola in the FIBA World Cup last September 2023. As a result, they became the highest-ranked team in Africa. Also, they qualified for the Paris Olympics.

The next Olympic basketball debut next month will be a landmark for South Sudan, which will celebrate 13 years after its independence from civil conflict in 2011. As a famed Sudanese national and fellow former NBA player Manute Bol introduced Deng to basketball after he escaped the horrors of war, this will be the climax of a dream and a journey for Deng.

According to a sportsbook watchdog, Deng attributes the early success of the South Sudanese national team to that encounter. Also, it was due to the relationships he formed while attending a tiny boarding school in New Jersey.

Can the Mavericks Make a Comeback?

Can the Mavericks Make a Comeback?Last night, the Dallas Mavericks lost Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics. While it is still to make any prediction as to who will win the NBA championship, things are not looking for Dallas. At the moment, they are 0-2 in the NBA Finals and most sports handicappers are having doubts about the Mavericks. So, the big question on everyone’s mind is Can the Mavericks Make a Comeback?

In last night’s game, the Mavericks lost 105-98. Considering the relatively close score, there may be a glimmer of hope for the Mavericks. However, the truth remains that the series has been dictated by Boston's terms, allowing the Celtics to stick to their season-long strategy.

Dallas, on the other hand, has been forced to deviate from their winning formula. The Mavericks find themselves constantly outmaneuvered, making both offense and defense a struggle.

In contrast, the Celtics seem to effortlessly navigate through the games, showcasing a level of basketball that is far from their best. Needless to say, after Sunday's game, some gamblers are beginning to doubt the Mavericks can make it pass game 4.

In the season's first two games, the Warriors went 2-0 on the road thanks to performances from Andrew Wiggins (who grabbed a game-high thirteen rebounds) and Trayce Jackson-Davis (12 points and nine boards). On Wednesday, the Warriors rolled past the Portland Trail Blazers, 104–140. Kevon Looney added nine points and ten rebounds off the bench for the Warriors, Moses Moody said twelve, and Brandin Podziemski scored fifteen.

The Utah Jazz lost to the Memphis Grizzlies 126-124 on Wednesday. John Collins had 14 points, Lauri Markkanen scored 13, and Collin Sexton and Keyonte George had 12 points each. In addition, Jordan Clarkson had 11 points. Despite being down by nine points and having just four points to show for the opening 4 minutes and 45 seconds of the game, the Warriors' fortunes began to flip when Hield rallied a primarily bench squad to reverse the tide swiftly.

Lakers vs Nuggets NBA Betting Pick and Prediction

Lakers vs Nuggets NBA Betting Pick and PredictionTonight, we got some exciting NBA Playoff action as the first round continues. For this basketball betting pick, we are looking at game 2 of the Western Conference quarterfinals best of 7 series. Thus, we examine the matchup between the No. 7 seed, Los Angeles Lakers and the No. 2 Seed Denver Nuggets. Can the Nuggets widen the gap or will the Lakers even the playing field? Here is my take on this game with my Lakers vs Nuggets NBA Betting Pick, prediction, and analysis!

The game will begin at 10:00 PM ET at Ball Arena giving the Nuggets the home advantage. Denver is the clear favorite with a -300 moneyline and a -7.5 pointspread. In addition, the sportsbooks are expecting a high scoring game with the total at 223.5. Looking at how the line has been moving, most people are betting on the over as the juice is at -115.

Many analytics models are giving the Nuggets a 75% chance of defeating Los Angeles, However, the odds of them covering the spread is not as good with such a large spread. For those betting on basketball, the total might be the best wager if you are worried them covering.

For NBA Bookies or those looking to become an NBA bookie, this game is a good exercise in watching the line closely. This is because you will be seeing a lot of shifting as most people bet on the favorite. However, it is also an opportunity as the line may start to move soon and give you a better money line odds.
