Mike Tyson Returns with Exhibition Match Against Roy Jones Jr.

Mike Tyson is back! He will fight Roy Jones Jr. in an eight-round exhibition match on September 12th in California. Per ESPN’s Ariel Helwani:

“No fans in attendance, No headgear. Larger gloves, but they’re still working that out. Maybe 12 (ounces).”

A former heavyweight champion, Tyson worked his way into an incredible shape over recent months. He has been on the comeback trail for a while and looked fearsome in all of his training videos.

“The Baddest Man on the Planet” talked about his plans to fight again and his workouts in May:

“I do around two hours on cardio, I do the bike and I do the treadmill for an hour,” Tyson explained. “And then I do some light weights. I do around 300, 250 reps. And then I start my day with the boxing, and then I go in there and hit the mitts for 30 minutes, 25 minutes, trying to get into better condition.”

Will Anthony Joshua Fight Fury or Wilder in 2019?

Will Anthony Joshua Fight Fury or Wilder in 2019?There’s only one thing that true fight fans want: the best boxers battling it out for the gold in the prime of their lives.

Nobody wants to see two pound-for-pound greats going at it too late; as was the case when Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao finally locked horns a little too far down the line for most fans’ liking.

At the age of 29, Anthony Joshua is arguably in his prime as a boxer, and having rarely been tested during his 22-fight career there is still plenty of gas in the tank too.

The concern, however, for AJ’s fans is that he isn’t getting the big fight nights his talent deserves, instead tackling second-rate heavyweights – albeit while still filling arenas – and taking his customary knockout victory.

That’s certainly the case for June’s date with Jarrell Miller in New York; ‘Big Baby’ has rather talked his way into the fight, given that the best name on his CV is, erm, Tomasz Adamek.

Barring an absolute miracle, this is a no-contest. The bookmakers make Joshua a 1/7 favourite in the latest boxing odds and that’s testament to his ability and Miller’s lack of big fight pedigree.

First, McGregor was 30 minutes late, showing Diaz how much respect he had for him as a fighter which left Diaz leave the scene but not before first giving McGregor and his crew the bird and then throwing a water bottle.

Nevada Commission Approves August 26 Date for the Mayweather-McGregor FightOver the weekend, rumors were quickly spreading about a possible fight between World Boxing champion, Floyd Mayweather and MMA fighting champion, Conor McGregor.

The rumors started when the Floyd Mayweather Production was going to request a meeting with the Nevada State Athletic Commission to formally fight McGregor on August 26, 2017.  Later on, Mayweather Promotions said that the request had been retracted.

It now looks like the retraction never took place as the Nevada State Athletic Commission has just approved Mayweather Promotions’ request to have a boxing event on August 26 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
