The legal team of WNBA star Brittney Griner told the Russian court that doctors prescribed medical cannabis for her chronic pain. The lawyers submitted a letter from a US medical center that prescribed the use of medical cannabis. According to the letter, Griner uses medical cannabis to treat chronic pain due to sports injuries.
Likewise, Friday, Griner's trial was deferred until July 26 after her legal counselors said they required additional opportunity to plan for the following stages. According to a sports betting software company, Griner has confessed to medicate charges, which conveys a sentence of as long as ten years in jail. However, the safeguard trusts the court will view the supplication as a moderating component, and the punishment will not be extreme.
US authorities classified her capture as an unjust detainment. Also, they said they are working on resolving the issue.
