Twenty-eight percent of residents named the Nationals as their favorite DC team. It was four times the amount that picked them in 2010. At the same time, Redskins fanbase decreased as 13 percent of the residents called them their favorite team. It was down from 21 percent in 2010.

In third place is the Capitals with ten percent of support from the residents. The Mystics and Wizards both got eight percent. In the last place is the soccer team DC United at six percent. However, there is 23 percent of DC residents who said they don’t like any of the local clubs.

According to bookie pay per head archives, the Redskins used to be the most popular local team. However, its popularity dropped in recent years due to several reasons. Also, the football team hasn’t made new fans in the district.

No other DC team can compare to Redskins’ popularity in the past. However, times changed, and the Redskins are no longer on top. The third-place Capitals is just behind the NFL team by three percent.

Sportsbook pay per head reviews and news reporters learned that the poll was made between
November 12 and 17.905 adult DC residents answered the survey that has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 points.

However, the survey didn’t include residents of Virginia and Maryland. The poll came after the Nationals won its first World Series and several weeks after the Mystics won the WNBA title. Also, football season is still ongoing.

The survey showed residents are celebrating the Nationals’ win. Also, it marked the Redskins’ fall as it struggled in the standings. Also, fans are unsatisfied with how team president Bruce Allen is running the team.
