Online Sports Betting Blocked in Central New York

sports betting blocked in central new yorkA large portion of Central New York and western New York might be left out of the proposed online sports wagering initiative. There are talks that online sports betting would be blocked in Central New York because Native American tribes have exclusive gambling rights.

According to casino news reports, Governor Andrew Cuomo and state lawmakers discuss a deal that would allow online sports betting in the state. They think that revenue from the activity can help reduce the budget deficit.

However, there are concerns that the plan excluded areas where Native tribes have exclusive gambling rights. In Central New York, those areas are Chenango, Cayuga, Cortland, Lewis, Oneida, Madison, Onondaga, Herkimer, Otsego, and Oswego counties.

Blocked in Central New York

The Oneida Indian Nation has exclusive gambling rights in those counties as part of the 2013 deal with the state government. The compact included potential mobile sports betting. Also, the issue could affect western New York counties, such as Niagara, Cattaraugus, and Erie. That’s where the Seneca Nation has exclusive gambling rights. However, their compact with the state has different terms.

Pay per head it's always a great option

Pay per head it's always a great optionThe sports betting world has expanded greatly in the last several years, with odds and lines seemingly available everywhere. Whether they’re websites or broadcast networks, they’ve taken wagering on sports into a mainstream direction. The startling development is just how quickly it has all changed.

Going back just five years, sports leagues and organizations were still trying to distance themselves from gambling. Even though Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) had gained some momentum behind DraftKings and FanDuel, it wasn’t considered gambling. Because DFS doesn’t directly reward the outcome of games, matches or tournaments, it was in effect given a pass.

What DFS did was to introduce a large population of sports fans to online technology that makes it easy for players to make picks and track their results. They became familiar with the process that would become instrumental in using online sportsbooks.

Betting MLB Props and Futures

Betting MLB Props and FuturesThe 2021 MLB season begins on Thursday, and that means that it's time to start preparing. The MLB season spans from April to November, so there are numerous wagering opportunities.

Since the MLB season is so long, it's also an excellent sport for future bets. The length of the season creates some very nice payouts if you win. Here are my best props and futures for the 2021 MLB season.

Los Angeles Dodgers

There are a few teams that you should bet to win the World Series in 2021. However, no team has more upside than the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Dodgers are +325 to win the World Series in 2021. This is an excellent bet, considering the talent of the Dodgers' lineup and rotation. The second half of Los Angeles' lineup is better than most teams' stars.

The Dodgers are led by Mookie Betts and Cody Bellinger at the plate. On the hill, the team has multiple ace-caliber pitchers, including Clayton Kershaw, Trevor Bauer, and Walker Buehler. David Price is the team's fifth starter, and he is a former Cy Young winner.
