Ionescu was once a protégé of NBA legend Kobe Bryant. Also, she was the top pick in the 2020 WNBA draft. She earned her triple-double in the sixth game after an ankle injury sent her to the sideline in her rookie season.

According to sportsbook pay per head news, it was the first triple-double earned by a New York Liberty player. Also, Ionescu is the youngest to achieve the milestone at 23 years old. She said she was excited about the milestone. However, she’s more excited that her team got the win. New York is now 3-0 after only winning two games last season.

In three games, Liberty shot 43.6 percent in the three-point region. On the other hand, the Mystics struggled beyond the three-point arc. They made nine out of 58 attempts in two games.
